Welcome Back Whitney

The ladies were out in full effect last night at the pre-Grammy party hosted by Clive Davis. Rihanna's "umbrella" is up against Beyonce's "irreplaceable" for Record of the Year. Amy Winehouse is up against Kanye West for Album of the Year. It is rumored that Whitney Houston will perform tonight with Alicia Keys. That would be hot. And what is up with Lohan's skin? She needs to stop.

Baby Boy, Now I'm All Grown Up

While an engagement has many a time been rumoured, this time we're thinking it's for real. Jay-Z proposed while he and Beyonce were in Cannes and they plan to marry in Hawaii this fall. Mazel tov.

Listen

It's been a while since we have posted a Beyonce song, so here's our new favorite. Enjoy.

Do The Naomi Campbell Walk

Naomi was sentenced to five days of cleaning up with NYC's sanitation crew as punishment for hitting her maid with her cellphone. Unfortunately the time will be served indoors so we won't get any moneyshots of her in that orange smock that Boy George made famous. Also unfortunate is that the judge isn't making Naomi clean her maid's house. That would be fitting, no? Listen to the hidden remix on Beyonce's B'Day album for the track featuring the Naomi Campbell walk. It's hot.

Retirement Called, You're Needed

Michael Jackson made his much-hyped return to the stage last night in London at the World Music Awards and it was a complete disaster. Wacko Jacko backed out of his scheduled performance of Thriller, opting instead to do whatever you want to call the above video. He's not singing, rather he's just walking around the stage. We're guessing he was lost and had no idea where or who he was. Fans were pissed and even boo'd host Lindsay Lohan twice when she messed up her lines. The show was not a complete wash as Chris Brown performed a tribute of Thriller, and Beyonce, Madonna and Kanye West won awards. Perhaps now Kanye will give it a rest. Speaking of, homegirl in the video needs to chill.

Holy MTV Video Music Awards

The MTV Video Music Awards returned to their rightful home in New York City tonight and it was a night of great performances, underdog wins and a random guy named Six stealing the show. Before we moved from our beloved Manhattan, we were fortunate enough to attend the VMA's and witnessed the Soy Bomb guy rush the stage during Bob Dylan's performance and we vowed to never miss the VMA's live again. We'll get to 2006's soy bomb event in a moment. The show started out with the hottest performance ever by Justin Timberlake and we are officially in love. We have never, ever seen anyone dance like that ever, ever. Get it? We love him. Best Male Video went to James Blunt for 'You're Beautiful' which completely rocks and Best Hip-Hop Video went to Black Eyed Peas for 'My Humps' which does not rock at all. Hey, you're here for our opinion so there it be. Shakira kicked it up with a performance of 'Hips Don't Lie' in an Indian sari complete with an entourage of dancers and Wyclef Jean. Amazing. Kelly Clarkson won Best Female Video for 'Because of You' and Pink won Best Pop Video for 'Stupid Girls' which was presented by Nicole Richie whom the song was about. Ironic. The Pussycat Dolls won Best Dance Video and Best Rap went to Chamillionaire for 'Ridin.' Fort Minor won for Ringtone of the Year with 'Where'd You Go' which is a great song and his newest song actually made us sit in the car at our destination just so we could find out who it was by. Best New Artist in a Video was Avenged Sevenfold for a song called 'Bat Country' and they were the biggest upset of the night as no one has ever heard of them. Beyonce performed from her new album and her choreography was reminiscent of Janet Jackson's 'Control' era. She also won Best R&B Video for 'Check On It.'
Paris Hilton made an appearance wearing God knows what and magically disappeared during comedienne Sarah Silverman's sarcastic ode to Paris. Basically Silverman said that Paris was too fat and needs to lose weight and that she knows that Paris "feels" and publicizing her reconciliation with former best friend Nicole Richie during sweeps on a popular late night talk show (Letterman) demonstrates "that". "That" being that Paris feels. Whatever, it was funny. We don't do it justice, catch the replays which will be on MTV for the next week.

Host Jack Black had a Tenacious D reunion and sang about Friendship, Motherf#ckin' Friendship, AFI won Best Rock Video for 'Miss Murder' and no, we didn't know MTV even played rock anymore. The Viewers' Choice Award was presented by the cast of JackAss who stayed true to their name and caused the cameras to film from very, very far away taking the spotlight away from winners Fall Out Boy for 'Dance, Dance.' Then Jenifer Lopez arrived to present the Video of the Year Award and wore the above outfit. We don't even know where to begin with that so we'll move on. She switched into her "Jenny From The Block" Puerto Rican accent to talk about the new MTV channel launching soon called MTV Tres which will feature Musica Latina. That is MTV 3 featuring Latin Music for all you readers not from "the block." Then she opened the envelope and read the winner - Panic! At The Disco for 'I Write Sins, Not Tragedies,' and then she gave the microphone to an African-American gentleman that appeared out of nowhere and was obviously not part of the all white boy group Panic! At The Disco. While the winners of Video of the Year were making their way to the stage, this guy named Six went on about how MTV wouldn't give him his own reality show and how you should all go to his website at mtv.6000.com and finally security got him and he was this year's Soy Bomb. We once heard of a stylist named Six that used to self-promote so we're off to find the website and solve the mystery. Adios Miami, welcome home MTV!

Holy Silver And Sequins

The BET Awards were last night and Beyonce is still wearing her mother's ridiculous creations. And yes, those are sequined spiders on her newly svelte legs and stomach. While we watched the BET awards last year, Kathy Griffin had our attention this time around. Speaking of Kathy, she is going to have a ball referring to her arch-nemesis, Star Jones, and the giant pool of crap she just threw herself into. We can't wait.

Holy Outfit At The VMA's

The MTV Video Music Awards were this past Sunday night in Miami, post-Hurricane Katrina, post-Suge Knight getting shot, and definitely post-Jessica Simpson completely losing her mind. We have no idea why her gay hair stylist let her out wearing this, but in his defense, he could never have predicted she would claim to be from the “Dirty South” and randomly hump the air while on stage with her sister. Jessica, President Bush, Beyonce and Renee Zellweger are from Texas. T-E-X-A-S. There is nothing “Dirty” about any of these people, even IF Jessica screwed Johnny Knoxville. Just because you love a dirty person, it doesn’t make you dirty. That’s what Britney tells herself everyday...

BET Awards Breakdown, BOY-EEEEE

The Game and son, Harlem, arrived for the BET Awards where he sang a duet with Mary J. Blige. Why he held his son during the performance we're not sure. The opening number by The Fugees had the inevitable shout out to the crowd from Wyclef Jean asking who wants another Fugees album. He has been begging Lauren Hill to reunite for years (including on his album, The Ecleftic) and this just may be a step in that direction. John Legend won Best New Artist and did a duet with Stevie Wonder. Destiny's Child performed a sexy number where they pulled Magic Johnson, Nelly and some other dude up on stage and basically did lap dances for them. We're just happy they're breaking up so we no longer have to see them wear outfits designed by Beyonce's mother. Mariah Carey sang her hit song in a dress that showed too much of her big thighs and too much of her big boobs and she looked like she was about to fall over in her too high heels. Practice walking in them first, honey. Tom Cruise wore moon boots to present the Best Actor award to Jamie Foxx, who was a no-show. Other award winners who didn't bother to show up were Usher, Kanye West, Regina King, Shaq and Donnie McClurken. Denzel Washington at least taped a thank you speech for his humanitarian award AND his wife gave a lovely speech. We're wondering who the hell Donnie McClurken is in the first place, and what was so important that he couldn't attend. Will and Jada Smith were great as the hosts and Halle Barry and Michael Jordan looked totally amazing. And Ciara lip synched her performance. And we hear she has a penis.
