We spent the last four days vacationing sans laptop because what really could be so exciting that we'd need to blog from the lake? Well, Holy Christ, we dropped the ball on this one. Friday morning around 2:30 am, Mel Gibson was arrested for Driving Under the Influence in Malibu while he drove 87 mph in a 45 mph zone. If he had kept his mouth shut and called his lawyer this would be a blip on pop culture's radar and not the public relations nightmare it has become. Gibson became belligerent and repeated, "My life is f#cked," followed by threats to the arresting deputy of, "You motherf#cker, I'm going to f#ck you." Gibson went on that he owns Malibu and would spend all of his money to get even with the officer. After refusing to get into the police car Gibson said, "F#cking Jews....The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world....Are you a Jew?" After apologizing via his publicist, Gibson will reportedly enter rehab for alcoholism. No word on how he'll deal with the Hitlerism.August 1, 2006
