M is for Monday

Following her performance and 5 Grammy wins last night, Amy Winehouse gushed to the crowd in London, "I can't believe I've won five awards," she told the intimate crowd, including her mother Janis, father Mitch and older brother Alex. "It's a shame I couldn't be there to accept the awards but I'm so proud and happy that I had the opportunity to perform for the Grammys in my hometown of London with my family and friends around me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Amy celebrate with her mom, Janis, dad, Mitch, and her older brother, Alex. We have been loving Amy forever, and truly hope that she uses this opportunity to turn a corner and get herself together. We dig vintage Winehouse before all the drugs and Blake. Enjoy.

Thanks to Michael K for the awesome video of Winehouse's performance tonight. Enjoy.

Rihanna Rocks It Out

Rihanna performed "Umbrella" at the Grammy Awards, our song of last summer. Why did she cut her hair so short, though?

Winehouse Wins Again

Bravo, Amy. It was touch and go for awhile, but she managed to pull through and give a solid performance. After winning the Grammy for 'Record of the Year' she said some thanks and of course mentioned Blakie. We're working on posting her performance, so stay tuned if you missed it.

Holy Awards For Winehouse

Amy Winehouse just picked up her 2nd Grammy for 'Song of the Year' with "Rehab." Above is Kanye West's performance, if you're interested. Yes, we love blogger video.

*Update: we love it, but we're still working out the kinks. Above is Tina Turner performing, and we'll have more of her with Beyonce in a moment. Kanye just won 'Best Rap Album' so maybe he won't throw a fit tonight. We can hope.

The 2008 Grammy Awards

Carrie Underwood performed 'Before He Cheats' and Amy Winehouse won the 'Best New Artist' award. Go, Amy, go. Beyonce is performing next and then Amy later. We're kind of nervous for her.

Britney Lives To Smoke Another Butt

Britney is out of the hospital and was at the dance studio yesterday, looking like a hot mess. The last weeks have been extremely difficult for Brit and her father is now in charge of her, literally and financially. Her parents got a restraining order against weirdo, Sam Lufti. He used to crush up medicine for pschizophrenia and put it in her food. When she was admitted to the hospital after the meltdown, she told the paramedics that she had taken adderall that night. Brit's paparazzi boyfriend, Adnan, (top photo) was just sued for divorce by his wife. For those of you keeping score; K-Fed has full custody of the kids, and Brit is not allowed to see them following her trip to the psych ward. Considering the situation, we feel somewhat silly for criticizing the girl on her fashion choices. Obviously in Britney's world, 'wear sane person clothes' is absolutely nowhere on the to-do list.

Welcome Back Whitney

The ladies were out in full effect last night at the pre-Grammy party hosted by Clive Davis. Rihanna's "umbrella" is up against Beyonce's "irreplaceable" for Record of the Year. Amy Winehouse is up against Kanye West for Album of the Year. It is rumored that Whitney Houston will perform tonight with Alicia Keys. That would be hot. And what is up with Lohan's skin? She needs to stop.

S is for Six Nominations

The 50th Annual Grammy Awards are tonight and our girl, Amy Winehouse, is nominated for 6 awards. Initially, Amy was turned down for a US visa by the embassy in London, but then Washington approved her visa for the performance. Visa issues aside, she will perform live via satellite tonight. She is out of rehab now, or in rehab, but we do know that after a video surfaced of her smoking crack and/or heroin, she quickly entered rehab. Her husband, Blake, is still in jail, and we're grateful that Amy got over that ridiculous desire to be blonde. We were scared for a second.

V is for Virginia

Hillary Clinton has come a long way from being the woman behind the man. At the beginning of the speech she's giving on CNN right now, she called the last 7 years "a detour." She is not fuckin' around. If she mentions "Carlos" one more time, we're totally calling her out on jumping the shark. We know "Carlos" is there supporting you from Texas. Let's move on.

We Dare You Not To Feel The Funk

On Friday we posted a video, and today we found this totally more awesome version of Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girls feat. Ben E. King. Enjoy.

Congratulations, It's A Widget!

T is for Tom

As we mentioned earlier, we've been spending a lot of time working on widgets this weekend. The above photo link is the statue that P.T. Barnum gifted to Bridgeport, CT in honor of Tom Thumb. We are using this page as a link in creating our very first widget. Why Tom Thumb, you ask? H is for History, of course.

S is for Snow

If all works out properly, you may be watching a video from our very own cell phone. Rather exciting for us, as we have been into widgets and such lately. That last sentence is probably the nerdiest thing we've ever said, but let's not digress. As always, we thank you for joining us here on the blog and we'd like to say a big thank you to one of our readers for our newfound inspiration. Kara, you leave us in awe. Keep rockin' it out, girl.

Smooth Is, As Smooth Does

For your listening pleasure. Enjoy!

We Just Cancelled Our Subscription

The fact that Britney's face is gracing the cover of Rolling Stone with the caption, 'Inside An American Tragedy,' speaks for itself. We admit to previously titling a post 'American Tragedy Revisted' here on the blog, but we were referring to the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. OJ Simpson took their lives and was never held accountable, which we happen to think is tragic. Brit Brit's drug drama and career suicide? Not so much. As of today, February 8, 2008, American families have lost 3,953 loved ones in Iraq. We're no experts, but it appears the time has come for a reality check. Mainstream media? We're talkin' to you.

Once, Twice, Three Times A Bride

Now, we're no experts but something tells us that Pam Anderson is a very poor judge of character. There was wedding number one to Tommy Lee on the beach after they had known each other for a lengthy three days. Wedding number two was last summer and we all know how that worked out. Ahem. Wedding number three was last month to the loser, Rick Solomon, during a break in her shows for that weird magician slash lion tamer dude. In Vegas. A couple of weeks ago she filed for divorce but then said they "were working on it." Not so much anymore. The divorce is going through and perhaps we've all learned a lesson or two. Working on it does not include staying out until 5 am snorting blow. But again, we're no experts.

I Told Ya That I Was Trouble

Although her husband, Blaaaaaakeeeeee, is in jail and unable to receive visitors...our girl Amy finally got her wits about her and went on vacation in the Caribbean. The courts in London announced last week that she was not responsible in any way in the extortion case that Blake is all messed up in. Ugh. She totally needs to lose him, but considering she wrote her last album during a period of time that they "were on a break," [holy friends reference] we predict her next venture will be amazing as well. She's not where she should be, but thank God she's not where she's been. [see below]. Recently, Amy travelled to Sweden or some other country to face charges from back in the fall when she and her husband were arrested for possession of marijuana. More importantly, she earned five Grammy nominations including Artist of the Year. Only Kanye West achieved more noms, with seven. We think that Amy should shop for some new undergarments before the awards ceremony, as nothing can symbolize a fresh start better than a set of new, sexy, (and un-scandalously-photographed) dainties.

You Want More? I'll Give You More

Brit Brit has really outdone herself in this fresh new year. Little Miss Thing was taken to the hospital following a 3-hour standoff at her Studio City home regarding the kids. Apparently she locked herself in a room with the little one, JJ, and locked the court-appointed monitor out of the house. Britney was admitted to the "special needs" ward of Cedars-Sinai hospital and will remain there for at least 72 hours. The kids were also admitted to the hospital, but were released shortly after 4 this morning. Considering the prelude to last year's train wreck began so innocently, Lord knows what she has in store for 2008. Let the games begin, y'all.
